  • As one of many visionary projects that are a part of LAX's modernization, LuLu's Place has achieved a key milestone. Yesterday, the project broke ground at a ceremony attended by Mayor Karen Bass, Councilwoman Traci Park, Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, BOAC President Karim Webb, LAWA CEO John Ackerman, LAWA executives and staff, community leaders, students and project donors and partners. LuLu's Place would not have been possible without Doug Kimmelman and all of the incredible partners who share in the vision to create an athletics and education-focused hub for the community. From tennis courts, soccer fields, a multi-purpose field, volleyball courts and basketball courts to a playground, dog park and picnic area, LAWA looks forward to welcoming students and their families to our backyard. #LAXTransformation #LuLusPlace
